Mayor Karl Dean and other community leaders have planned a ceremony commemorating the one-year anniversary of the May 2010 flood to be held Monday, May 2, at 11 am. Musicians from the Nashville Symphony, who lost their home, the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, for over 6 months due to the flood, will be performing along with other Nashville artists on the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge. In addition to live entertainment, those who attend will have a chance to see the traveling flood exhibit that will be on display around Davidson County this summer. Nashville Public Library will also be there to hear the stories of flood survivors and incorporate them into the Nashville Flood Digital History Project. Details of the ceremony are still being worked out, but watch for more artists to join the lineup soon!
