Tonya Lewis, a former high school counselor, owns The Post East and says she always wanted to open a coffee shop. With the help of her fiancé Chris Cowley, she plans to open the shop as a community hangout and place for high-quality fresh beverages.
It will be located at 1701 Fatherland and is currently under construction for a new interior by Hunter Design. Inside the shop, Lewis will serve up coffee and espresso, as well as make fresh smoothies and sell cold-pressed juices that will be bottled in house.
Popular East Nashville baker Nicole Wolf will share the space, preparing muffins, tarts and other baked goods for the cafe. Lewis also hopes to offer a separate line of fresh gluten-free treats.
Cowley says “we’re excited to build a little community here.”
The buildout began this week. If all goes well, Lewis hopes to launch a soft opening in mid-April.
