With drinks like the salted caramel whiskey latte and bourbon vanilla latte, you’re sure to have a one-of-a-kind experience.     Morning Activity: McKay’s

    All true indies know exactly how to get to McKay’s. At McKay’s, you can find great old books, movies, video games and, of course, music. You can spend hours at McKay’s rummaging through the largest McKay’s in the country. Whether you are looking for that college textbook that is just too expensive at the bookstore or you want to catch up on the latest novel, you can find it all at McKay’s.

    Lunch: Sky Blue Cafe

    Sky Blue Cafe is another East Nashville hot spot. Located in the historic Edgefield neighborhood, this cafe offers everything from omelets to sandwiches to cappuccinos. All of Sky Blue’s coffee comes from Drew’s Brews and the bagels are baked right down the street at Bagel Face Bakery.

    Afternoon Activity: Hatch Show Print

    Visit Hatch Show Print to see how some of the world’s top poster prints are made. While this doesn’t sound very riveting, Hatch Show Print is full of colorful history that stems all the way back to the time when Rev. Henry Ward Beecher, Harriet Beecher Stowe’s brother, visited Nashville. Now part of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Hatch Show Print still does work for clients such as Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Nike.

    Evening Activity: the Basement

    To finish off your indie experience, make sure you check out a show at the Basement. Owned by Mike Grimes of Grimey’s New& Pre-Loved Music and Dave Brown, this venue never disappoints. With shows from the Lost Bayou Ramblers, Angel Snow and Goodbye June, the Basement showcases many different talents.
