The homes of this close-knit West Nashville community have been carefully restored and landscaped into great shape. A bagel shop, a coffeehouse, new restaurants and an art gallery have taken the spotlight among its one-block commercial strip.  On its tree-lined street blocks are 1910s to 1940s frame and brick bungalows. Also prevalent are 1900-1915 Princess Anne cottages, small brick cottages with Tudor and Deco influences, and large, handsome Queen Anne homes. Golfers find haven at McCabe Park with a convenient McCabe’s Pub right across the street.

Located in West Nashville, most Sylvan Park homes are priced between $300,000 and $500,000. Many of the streets in this neighborhood are named after states because when this area was first being developed, city planners hoped that people from all across the country would aspire to live here.  As aforementioned, Sylvan Park is filled with two main styles of homes: 1910-1940s style frame-and-brick bungalows as well as 1900-1915s style Princess Anne cottages.  The neighborhood is currently going through a transitional phase as new construction is being built in some areas while historical homes are being preserved in others.
The area is known for many local hotspots such as McCabe’s PubNashville Ballet School of DanceNashville Opera, and Climb Nashville, the city’s best indoor climbing gym. Restaurants such as award-winning Star Bagel Café, the oldest and only locally owned and operated bagel café in Nashville, Café Nonna, and The Local Taco are other local Nashville favorites.
