March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day and with it falling on a Saturday this year, there is no excuse to not join in on the fun and celebratory nature of this fun Irish holiday.
Hosted and sponsored by The Green Wagon and Landscape Solutions, the St. Patty’s Day Spring Fling is a day to celebrate St. Patrick’s day and strengthen the community through teaching and learning — and fun!
This year, the 2nd annual Spring Fling will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 17 and the best part of this fun event is that it is free to attend.
There will be free green beer and delicious culinary treats from Terra Delicious and Blackbird Heritage Farm and donations are accepted, all of which will go towards the Martha O’Bryan Center. The Martha O’Bryan center is a faith-based family resource center here in Nashville which works to “empower children, youth and adults in poverty to transform their lives through work, education, employment and fellowship.”
Representatives from Landscape Solutions will offer a workshop from 1 to 2 p.m. about sustainable landscape practices and will also share tips and tricks for prepping lawns for the spring. Staff from Nashville Foodscapes will also be on hand to talk about growing your own food at home from 3 to 4 p.m. while friends from All Seasons Gardening and Brewing will being doing a workshop about home beer brewing from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.; this particular workshop costs $10.
While all but the beer brewing workshop by All Seasons Gardening and Brewing are free, registration to attend each is required. Tickets for all three are available through The Skillery. Visit here for more information about registration and tickets.
Be sure to stop by and take part in this fun community even on Saturday, March 17!
