Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. is bringing its healthy grocery store concept to Nashville!
Sprouts describes itself as a grocery store that has a strong focus on natural and organic products at a value. The company is benefiting from consumers embracing the need for a healthy diet, attribute-based shopping and focus on value, according to an overview posted on its website.
At a Sprouts store, produce takes up 25 percent of the overall space. The company’s new stores include an expanded deli with fresh sushi, rotisserie chicken and an olive bar.
Sprouts opened its first Tennessee store in Lakeland with another location expected to open in that city’s Germantown suburb on July 8. The company also was pursuing a Nashville-area location in Murfreesboro that’s targeted for opening in early to mid-2016.
This location is planned as part of the redevelopment of the Bellevue Center mall property by Retail Properties of America Inc. of Oak Brook, Ill., and Charlotte, N.C.-based Crosland Southeast. They plan to redevelop the largely vacant 75-acre Bellevue Center mall site into the retail-driven, multi-use One Bellevue Place.
