First GQ called us ‘Nowville,’ then Conde Naste Traveler listed us as a ‘must-visit city.’ Soon after, The New York Times hopped on board, dubbing Nashville the nation’s newest “It City.” Not long after those articles had been published did Nashville make Huffington Post’s list of 20 cities that are ‘must-visits’ in your 20s. These days, Nashville is no stranger to receiving glowing reviews in big time publications. No longer just ‘Music City,’ in more recent times, people are beginning to understand something we have long know about this place we call home: that it is overall just a really cool, unique and awesome place to be.

Reason #9: Shop ‘Til You Drop
The Nashville shopping scene has been on the rise the past few years. With many local shopping areas to choose from such as Hillsboro Village, Green Hills Mall, East Nashville, and Opry Mills, there is always something new to buy!
10Best recently named Nashville the #4 Best City in the U.S. for shopping. It recognized the shopping area hot spots and acknowledged that Nashville retailers were stepping up their game.
One of the most popular shopping areas in Nashville, especially amongst students, is Hillsboro Village. Hillsboro Village may seem small, but unique boutiques and specialty stores abound. Pangaea, Fire Finch, and A Thousand Faces each offer their own varied selection of art, jewelry, and more. For unique gifts or rare finds, these stores are a must. Posh Boutique, a sister shop to the Green Hills favorite, offers a wide selection of the latest styles. Even glasses aren’t spared by this neighborhood’s chic style: SEE (Selective Eyewear Elements) features unique European designer eyewear.
Green Hills Mall is a shopping mall located in the upscale Green Hills commercial and residential district of Nashville. It has over 100 stores on two floors. The mall is mostly geared to an upscale crowd, and features many stores unique to the Nashville area, in addition to standard mall fare.
When it comes to one-of-a-kind shopping, East Nashville has a variety of options. The Green Wagon offers eco-friendly shopping with hopes to make living sustainably as easy as possible for their customers. Hip Zipper is a classic, vintage consignment boutique that features a unique, eclectic collection of clothing from various eras. Named “One of South’s Top 10 Bootiques” by Southern Living, Goodbuy Girls sells the best quality and affordable vintage cowboy boots in the city. Another vintage store, HumanKind Made: Locally Made Goods, offers vintage and modern apparel in a quirky atmosphere for men and women.
Opry Mills is a shopping mall that offers it all. There are over 200 stores including Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Forever 21, Bass Pro Shops, and more. There are also dining options such as Rainforest Cafe and Chuy’s Mexican Food, as well as quick and fast options. To top it off, Opry Mills offers entertainment options with Regal Cinema 20 and IMAX Theater, and Dave & Buster’s.
So no matter what kind of shopping experience you are in the mood for, Nashville has it!
