Sales Tax Free Weekend Coming Soon | Nashville Events

Clothing, school supplies and computers are all about to be a little cheaper for a weekend when Tennessee lifts its sales tax on certain items during its annual Sales Tax Holiday.

From midnight on August 2 to 11:59 p.m. on August 4, clothing under $100, school supplies under $100 and computers under $1500 will all be exempt from Tennessee sales tax. This holiday, which began in 2006, saves Tennesseans around $8 to $10 million annually while back-to-school shopping. Even though it is designed to help prepare students for returning to school, anyone can participate in the savings.

The savings also apply to online shopping that is placed that weekend as well. And don’t worry, if you want to place something on layaway during the weekend, it’s exempt too!

It seems like this is the perfect weekend to head to Green Hills Mall, Opry Mills or any other shopping center in the area!
