Retro Sno has asked their loyal tribe of Snoball fans (over 2,400 Twitter followers) to participate in naming their new truck. The new truck will begin making its way around town this weekend, along with Razz, Retro Sno’s original ’77 Ford Stepvan, named after the brand’s most popular Snoball flavor, Rasberry Wedding Cake. Fans and followers of the truck have been submitting names for the new truck on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram using the hashtag #RetroTurns2. Co-owners Morgan Williamson and Elizabeth Nunnally will be selecting their favorite name from the pool of entries and will announce the new name on stage during Musician’s Corner. The individual submitting the winning entry will receive a Retro Sno Season Pass, good for a free Snoball each day that the truck is open for business this Summer and Fall.
“We have just been blown away by the success of Retro Sno,” says Williamson, who dreamed up the business with her good friend Nunnally and their husbands on a road trip home from the Smoky Mountains. “Our lifelong obsessions with Snoballs that began when we were children and our desire for a new venture paired perfectly with the rise of food trucks in Nashville. And suddenly a fun, dream-filled conversation ‘snoballed’ into the reality of having a top-of-the-line ice-shaver and an 18-foot truck in the backyard!”
And food truck-obsessed Nashville has taken notice: Retro Sno won the People’s Choice Award at the Nashville Street Food Awards in its inaugural season. The national food publication The Daily Meal named Retro Sno one of its “50 Best Dessert Trucks in America for 2013.”
Now entering its third full season, and outfitted with a brand new truck, Retro Sno is excited to build on that popularity and success, doubling their ability to delight fans, followers, and the occasional curious passerby with an experience reminiscent of the fun days of their past for years into the future.
