Omni Hotel officially coming to Downtown Nashville

A new hotel coming to downtown Nashville! But the Omni will serve as more than just another hotel. Texas-based Omni Hotels has officially purchased another property as it proceeds with plans for an 800-room hotel that will share a campus with the Country Music Hall of Fame.  Metro officials in the hospitality industry say the unique complex will compliment the planned Music City Convention Center and will create a “seamless experience” between the hall of fame and hotel, the hopeful companion to the Convention Center. This new complex will add a new attraction to downtown like none before. “The $273 million hotel will have 800 rooms and be financed by Omni, with incentives from Metro. The Hall of Fame plans to do a fund raising drive for its expansion, and officials have said it’s too early to say whether Metro incentives would be involved.” According to Davidson County property records, Omni closed this week on a nearly one-acre parking lot located at 225 Fifth Avenue South for $7.6 million that was recently appraised for $2.1 million. The Omni bought the biggest chunk of the necessary property — a 103,000-square-foot parcel from Tower Investments — for $18.3 million earlier this month. This new facility will not only serve as a new hotel for Downtown Nashville but will create a unique venue experience like no other in Nashville. With the convenience of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the new Music City Convention Center, the hotel is sure to draw a unique attraction by locals and tourists alike.
