New Restaurants for 12South | Nashville News

Foodies rejoice! Nashville’s popular and growing 12South neighborhood is getting two new restaurants in the coming year. (Read more about the 12South neighborhood of Nashville here. )

A couple of months ago, it was announced that the seafood restaurant Fish & Co., located on the corner of Elmwood and 12th Ave. S., was be closing its doors. Announced to be coming in its place was be Tacqueria del Sol. Tacqueria del Sol offers “from scratch” Southern, Mexican and Southwestern dishes and has locations in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida and North Carolina. The 12South location in Nashville will be the first for Tennessee. No opening date has been released, however it is expected to open sometime in 2013.

More recently announced is the opening of another new restaurant in 2013, to be called Josephine. Josephine is being opened by Miranda Whitcomb Pontes, who opened and owns the very successful 12South restaurant Burger Up (which also has a second location located in the Cool Springs area of Franklin). Josephine is expected to open in the fall of 2013 and will be located at 2316 12th Ave. Sl., between Linden and Elmwood Avenues. The restaurant will offer a selection of 60 wines and according to its newly opened twitter account, is said to be explained, in a word, as “unfussy.”
