LB’s Market House

The owners of Burger Up and Frothy Monkey, Miranda and Mike, have brought another gem to the 12South neighborhood, this one named “LB’s Market House.” The name refers to Miranda’s son Landon B, who can be seen helping put sandwiches in bags and learning the cash register. The location contains a market, a cold case for carryout “by the LB” items, and a salad bar. The market features local milk and eggs and other products. LB’s opened last week and is already attracting a lunch crowd – check it out before it gets too busy!

Chuy’s

Midtown residents will be happy to hear that the block between Division and Broadway at 19th Avenue is getting a facelift in a major way – replacing the run down carport and adjacent buildings with delicious Austin, TX-based Tex-Mex chain Chuy’s! This is the restaurant’s third location in Middle Tennessee, with locations in Cool Springs and Murfreesboro as well. The real estate has been purchased and is already under construction, with plans to open the doors this summer. Over 150 employees will be hired to staff the restaurant, which gets its culinary inspiration from New Mexico and border towns along Texas and Mexico. “The restaurant folds very well into the fabric of Midtown – a walkable neighborhood that includes a nucleus of lunch and after-hours destinations,” said the representative of the landlord, Henry Menge of XMi Commercial Real Estate. The construction plans include an outdoor patio, where patrons can enjoy Chuy’s hand-rolled tortillas, signature sauces, and margaritas. Chuy’s will be a delicious addition to the midtown neighborhood!
