Edley’s is known around town for its superb barbecue and southern cuisine. Located in the heart of 12South, the restaurant was an immediate favorite amongst locals and visitors alike. All of the restaurant’s success has led to a second location in East Nashville, which opened this past Wednesday—right on the heels of USA Today naming East Nashville in its “10 best neighborhoods that tourists haven’t found yet” list.
Catherine Newman, owner of Edley’s and The Filling Station, explained, “we want to provide a place where the neighborhood can come hang out and have a good time.” Renovations of an old building near Fat Bottom Brewery began a while back, which fit the bill of the Edley’s team’s criteria: an existing building in a good neighborhood.
The new location will feature the same menu of barbecue, sandwiches, and more, but the bar will be much bigger, with some unique specials. Newman says they’re trying to add an East Nashville twist to the new location.
When the weather is nice, diners can eat by the open garage-door walls or out on the patio. Despite the larger bar, Edley’s East will still be very family-friendly and the prices will continue to be lower than the average restaurants in the area.
The Newman’s also plan to open a second location of The Filling Station near Edley’s East, but one thing at a time.
