Nashville’s Next “It” Neighborhood

8th Avenue South will soon be joining the list of Music City’s most exciting “It” neighborhoods!  We predict it will be among such cool areas as The Gulch, Midtown, 12South and Hillsboro Village!

After over two years of planning and multiple zoning attempts, Metro Council has approved a mixed-use commercial and residential development to fill the space behind the Kroger on Franklin Pike/8th Ave South.  The residential area called Gale Park will include 58 cottage-style single family homes and 23 town homes built around shared green space with homes starting at $250,000 and town homes starting at $150,000!  Additionally, a 30,000 square foot mixed-use building will be built between the new residential area and existing Kroger Center to entice new businesses and restaurants to the community.

Gale Park developer Aaron White, president of Core Development, has spearheaded the project since its proposal in 2007, and has been working closely with the community to find out what residents wanted on this vacant land.  In the end though, it was Metro Council who proposed the mixed development zoning, believing this would provide the greatest opportunity for the area.  Core Development, who has expressed excitement about Metro Council’s final decision, is continuing to meet with the community to develop a master plan that will be commercially successful and blend aesthetically with the tree-lined streets of the area.

With 81 homes, condos, and new spaces to attract business to the area, the Gale Park development will provide 8th Ave south with many new and exciting opportunities for growth in the near future.  If you’re looking to live in a cutting-edge neighborhood, but don’t want to give up that traditional Nashville neighborhood feeling, this combination development is likely just the place you’ve been searching for!

*** There’s still time to get the $8000 or $6500 tax credits before the April contract deadline!!  Call the Perry Property Group now for more info on Gale Park, or how you can still take advantage of the tax credit!!
