On April 26 from noon-6 p.m., 15 food trucks trucks will compete to create a special dish using an ingredient unveiled by the Grow Local Kitchen’s Laura Wilson. The chefs must post photos and videos documenting their use of the ingredient via social media, and a panel of judges will decide the winning dish.
Attendees can try the dishes and other new seasonal menu items and win prizes by sharing their food photos using the hashtag, #markettakeover.
Local food truck participants include Riffs Fine Street Food, Grilled Cheeserie, Music City Pie Co. and Retro Sno. Also, at 3:30 p.m. the same day, local media members will also compete by preparing dishes using ingredients supplied by the trucks. This time, the food truck chefs will select the winner.
The event is free and will be located at 900 Rosa L. Parks Blvd.
