A major mixed-use development is planned for Nashville’s Green Hills neighborhood. The developer, Gallatin-based Green & Little LP, is going before the Metro Planning Commission on Dec. 13 to seek a zoning change that would make the project possible.
The development would include hotel, retail, restaurant and office space from its Green Hills location, at the point at which Crestmoor Avenue curves and becomes Cleghorn Avenue. The building would anchor the west side of Cleghorn, with three buildings currently sitting on the site to be razed if the project comes to fruition. Green & Little has owned one of the two parcels for eight years, (on which two buildings sit), and early 2012, purchased the second.
The development team has explained that much needs to be taken care of before construction can begin; Green & Little will need to negotiate the termination of leases of those tenants in its buildings and the developer will need to find an anchor tenant for the new space. Developers guess that the earliest ground breaking would occur would be in 2014.
