Melrose Lanes may get some Love!

In 2005, developers announced big plans for the property the bowling alley was leasing.  We heard there would be new restaurants, lofts, new stores and even a Starbucks!  Melrose Lanes was asked to shut its doors on July 4th, 2005.  Shortly thereafter, a tax lien was placed on the property that kept it from being developed.
After several years and quite the eye-sore sitting on Franklin Pike, the much loved and much missed Melrose Lanes may get some new love after all!  Melrose Shopping Center has been dormant for quite sometime, but the property may get a brand new look and could potentially be home to nearly 200 apartments!

Plans have been submitted to Berry Hill Planning Commission by Parkes Development and Fulcher Investment Properties.  They are looking to develop a three-building development totaling 200,805 square feet, including 10,780 square feet of retail space and around 8,000 square feet of restaurant space on Franklin Pike property!

Melrose Billiards, which is at the basement level of the building, will remain untouched.  The plans call for two buildings to be attached to the current structure and an entirely new structure built behind the center.  The apartments will include studios and two bed, two bath units.

The Parkes-Fulcher partnership has the land under contract.
