A luxury apartment community is in the works for North Nashville, in a location nearby the Nashville Farmers’ Market on Rosa L. Parks Boulevard.
A Houston-based architectural designer has 2.5 acres located across from the Farmers’ Market under contract, with plans to build a 220-unit, high-end complex. The property includes two buildings that have sat vacant since the flood that occurred in May 2010.
Architect Donald Meeks of Meeks + Partners hopes to complete the purchase by April or earlier and start construction on the project next summer in hopes for completion 18 months later.
This new development only adds to the growing list of apartment projects planned or underway in Nashville. About 4,600 units have been announced and are under construction, with an additional 4,500 units unannounced, industry data shows. A multifamily property broker at CBRE explained that Nashville’s market activity levels reflects a healthy market with an economy recovering faster than some other parts of the country.
