Lonnie’s To Leave Printers Alley, Open 2 New Locations | Nashville News

Ever been downtown to sing karaoke? Well then you might’ve stopped by Lonnie’s Western Room, the legendary karaoke bar.

Owner Lonnie Powers announced that Lonnie’s would be leaving Printers Alley after 27 years there and opening a new location around the corner at 308 Church St. In addition, he will be opening a new karaoke bar and cafe later this month in Hermitage.

Lonnie’s will host a closing party, called “The Last Party”, on March 28 and it is sure to be a good time!

Powers said the plan is to open April 3 at the new location. He said Lonnie’s Karaoke Cafe will open March 20 at 3914 Lebanon Pike in Hermitage.

Lonnie’s decision to leave Printers Alley is from the new downtown development planned for that area. The Utopia Hotel project will reform a 124-year-old building and will include a restaurant and music component. Powers said the new owners of the building that houses his karaoke bar offered for him to stay. But he would have been forced to relocate during the building’s renovation to make room for a boutique hotel, and the rent was going to rise.

Alex Marks, part of the development team revitalizing the Utopia building, said Lonnie’s has been a Printers Alley tradition.
