With Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams plans for expansion comes a lease 1,426 square foot establishment. The Ohio based ice cream company will be part of the Hill Center Acklen mixed-use development in Hillsboro Village. The new location joins the two other Jeni’s one in East Nashville and the other on 12 South.
The company was founded in 2002. Since then, the company uses grass-grazed Ohio milk and local ingredients. Fruits and Yazoo Sue Porter are examples of some ingredients Jeni’s gets locally.
More than two dozen businesses in the area sell or promote Jeni’s ice cream. Hill Center Acklen has four other tenants excluding Jeni’s. The Pilates Garage, Double Dog sports bar, Revelator Coffee Co., Native + Nomad boutique and Uncle Classic Barbershop will all take up shop in Hillsboro Village.
Aside from the commercial use, the project includes 42 apartments, 4,192 square feet of first-floor restaurant space, and a 118 space parking garage.
