The Superbowl has passed and the Oscars are still a few weeks away but there is still another reason to celebrate, especially for us Nashvillians!
This Sunday marks the date for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, which will be aired on CBS on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. The Grammy’s are an especially prominent awards show for Nashville because so many of Nashville’s own famed artists are honored each year, and this year is no different.
This year’s show will be hosted by LL Cool J and have awards presented by hot names including Lady Antebellum, Marc Anthony, Ryan Seacrest, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, Drake, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jack Black, Fergie, and Ringo Starr.
This year’s performances are sure to not disappoint, either. Those who have been announced as performers include Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, Clen Campbell with The Band Perry, Katy Perry, Adele, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Nicki Manaj and Tony Bennett with Carrie Underwood.
Notable nominations include Album of the Year nominations for 21 by Adele, Wasting Light by the Foo Fighters, Born this Way by Lady Gaga, Doo-wops and Hooligans by Bruno Mars and Loud by Rihanna, Song of the Year nominations for All of the Lights by Kanye West, Rihanna, Kid Cudi & Fergie, The Cave by Mumford & Sons, Grenade by Bruno Mars, Holocene by Bon Iver, Rolling in the Deep by Adele and Best Country Song nominations for God Gave Me You by Blake Shelton, Just Fishin’ by Trace Adkins, Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not by Thompson Square, Mean by Taylor Swift, Threaten Me With Heaven by Vince Gill and You and Tequila by Kenny Chesney featuring Grace Potter.
