It seems the big news this week came yesterday, with the announcement that popular retailer H&M will be opening its first Tennessee store later this year.
The store will be opening in Nashville’s Opry Mills mall, according to a Metro Codes and Building Safety Department building permit. It has long been one of Nashville’s most coveted stores, with home-goods store Ikea close behind it.
H&M is known for its high-fashion pieces at low-prices for men, women and children. Currently, the closest locations are in Huntsville and Atlanta, with about 2,800 stores worldwide.
Opry Mills, which reopened in March of last year after being closed for nearly two years after the May 2010 flood, is home to very popular stores. The H&M store will be 24,851 square feet and be located near the Nike Factory Store.
