Sunday, December 12th from Noon to 6 PM CREMA Coffee shop will celebrate its Third Annual Crema Christmas. The event is always focused around serving the Nashville homeless community and this year the coffee proceeds will be going to Safe Haven and People Loving Nashville.
This year, Crema has a handful of local artisans that have made homemade accessories (hats, scarves, gloves) which will be available for purchase to give to a homeless individual this holiday season. All homemade items that are purchased for the homeless will also include a note from the purchaser! If you are artsy or crafty, you could also donate items to be sold at the event! Crema is still in need of a few talented artisans so if you make scarves or hats or anything warm, you should donate your talents and resources for the homeless! OR if you paint, take pictures or make jewelery you can donate those as well. The proceeds from the crafts will also go to People Loving Nashville and Safe Haven in addition to the coffee proceeds.
In 2008-09, CREMA raised and/or donated nearly $3,000 to Safe Haven, the Contributor and other local charities. After the Nashville Flood, CREMA collected over three truckloads of supplies for immediate use by those displaced at tent city.
Safe Haven is a home that provides shelter and transitional services to entire families in order to empower them to achieve lasting self-sufficiency. For more information, visit their website here.
People Loving Nashville started in 2008 with a few people feeding a family Thanksgiving dinner. After this, they were so moved they decided to provide a meal on a weekly basis to a homeless family. Now, each Monday night People Loving Nashville comes together to serve a meal to the homeless. They are simply “People Loving Nashville.” For more information, visit their website here.
