In 2012, George Jones announced his farewell tour, the plan was to end the tour in a big way at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 22, 2013. Some of the biggest names in country music were slated to join him on stage to help sing him into retirement.
Jones’ passing this past April changed that plan, however, and instead of a farewell show, the decision was made to turn the show into a tribute for Jones. The show is now being called “Playin’ Possum! The Final No Show.”
Tickets for the show are sold out, but VIP packages going for $1,000 each remain. VIP packages include a pre-show reception with Nancy Jones and a ticket. Visit www.georgejones.com for more information.
The artists scheduled to join the stage next month in tribute of Jones are as follows, in alphabetical order:
Baillie & the Boys
Big & Rich
Chad Warrix (Halfway to Hazzard)
Dailey & Vincent
Eric Lee Beddingfield
Jim Ed Brown
Jimmy C. Newman
John Michael Montgomery
Lee Ann Womack
Little Jimmy Dickens
The Oak Ridge Boys
T. Graham Brown
“plus some surprise guests!!!!”
