Elliston Place to gain a 300-unit Apartment Complex

More housing is coming to those people looking to live in the Elliston/West End area.  The Southern Land Company and West End Partnership have announced that they will be building a 300-unit apartment complex with two restaurants and retail space at Elliston Place and 23rd Avenue North.  A need for more housing in this area has be recognized and the two companies believe this is the answer to the problem

The Metro Board of Zoning Appeals granted Southern Land Company and West End Partnership to build a 300-unit apartment complex with two restaurants and a retail space at Elliston Place and 23rd Avenue North with a special exception that will allow “the building to be 81 feet tall and closer to the street than allowed by local ordinances.”

The six-story building will be 348,000 square feet and include a 400-space parking garage for residents, diners and shoppers.  The Southern Land Company plans to break ground in the summer of 2011.
