Ellie’s Run for Africa | Nashville Events

The 10th annual Ellie’s Run for Africa is quickly approaching!

In 2004, 10-year-old Ellie Ambrose heard a missionary speak to her church. She then pursued her dream to change the lives of hundreds of children. Now in its tenth year, Ellie’s Run for Africa has raised more than $500,000 to benefit a number of educational ministries, and continues its mission to be more than just a 5K race.

The most current project is serving the Huruma and Githogoro slums of Nairobi, Kenya, at the New Dawn School which provides high school education for 160 students.

Getting involved with Ellie’s Run for Africa can be as simple as clicking here to donate.  However, if you are interested in being a “Hero” and spearheading your own fundraising efforts, check out the Hero description and sign up here.

This years race is on May 17, 2014 at Percy Warner Park. The 5K Race begins at 7:30 am and the Kids Fun Run begins at 8:30 am. You can register for Ellie’s Run for Africa 5K here.
