A new type of community that draws inspiration from the 1940s and 50s is coming to Nashville.
A newly announced cohousing community is set to start construction later this summer. The community, which will be located in Germantown, is set to look like normal housing complexes in the area and will not stand out.
This is the first community of its type in the state of Tennessee, but definitely not they first in the country. The community will consist of privately owned condos, green space, a common house and environmental efficiency. Tenants are expected to range in age from 30-70 and be single business men to families.Prices are expected to range from $194,000 to $360,000. All decisions affecting the community will be made by the community itself.
Forty percent of the property will consist of green space including edible landscape and rain gardens.
