North Gulch adds a great addition to its restaurant list!
On November 18th, the highly anticipated Chauhan Ale and Masala House opened adding another stellar restaurant to the Gulch area.
The executive chef and co-owner, Maneet Chauhan, decided to open a restaurant in Nashville after visiting and loving the feel of the city and its people. Chauhan Ale and Masala House at its very base is a modern Indian restaurant but it is so much more with brick and popping colors that give the atmosphere a contemporary feel.
At first glance, the interior is filled with elaborate Indian patterns and décor, but with a bar-like feel. Chauhan Ale and Masala House will eventually add a lounge area with comfortable, stylish furniture. In addition, tables will be made into a traditional Indian game called Carrom that can be played while eating. The interior offers many different seating options that include booths, tables, and the bar area with high bar stools.
Chef Chauhan has been said to break the boundaries of typical Indian cuisine. The menu consists of conventional Indian food mixed with some Southern influence. Guests can expect a wide array of menu choices including seafood, hot chicken, lamb and vegetarian options. As for the bar Chauhan says the restaurant will fill its drink menu with custom Indian spice-infused microbrews as well as other craft beers.
As of right now Chauhan is only open for dinner but lunch service will be offered soon. Check Chauhan Ale and Masala House at 123 12th Avenue North in the Gulch!
