Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena was recently No. 6 on the list of busiest venues, selling nearly 450,000 tickets in 2013.
According to Pollstar, a trade publication for the concert tour industry, this is the third time in the past four years that Bridgestone has been named one of the busiest venues in the United States. “Thanks to the outstanding support of Bridgestone Arena patrons, staff, performers, promoters and the city of Nashville, the arena has become one of the premier stops on U.S. tours,” said David Kells, Bridgestone Arena’s vice president of booking.
2013 was a very busy year for Bridgestone Arena, bringing in several of the top 10 largest music tours worldwide to Nashville. These acts include Beyonce, Justin Bieber, One Direction, and Taylor Swift. Other acts that performed at Bridgestone Arena last year include Elton John, Michael Buble, Justin Timberlake, and Kanye West.
You also can’t forget about the Nashville Predators, who have been playing at Bridgestone Arena since 1998, just two years after the venue opened its door for its first concert.
Other special events including the CMA Awards, the CMT Awards, Keith Urban’s “We’re All For the Hall” benefit concert, Disney On Ice, etc made visits to Bridgestone Arena in 2013.
Needless to say, 2013 was a very busy year for Bridgestone Arena and it doesn’t look like things will be slowing down in 2014. Last week, it was announced that Billy Joel would be performing at Bridgestone Arena on March 14. Other artists set to perform throughout the year include George Strait, Cher, Kings of Leon, Miley Cyrus, and more.
