    Bridge Building Gets Top Honor | Nashville News

    Nashville’s Bridge Building has earned the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design’s Platinum Status for its economic friendly construction.

    The space received 99 out of 110 points in the Platinum category, which is the highest possibly category, to become the greenest building in the state of Tennessee. In fact, only two other buildings world wide have received a higher score than the Bridge Building has.

    The Bridge Building scored a perfect 37 in energy and atmosphere, which includes green power and energy performance, and 26 out of 18 in the sustainable sites category.

    The Bridge Building was built in 1908 near what is today LP Field, and was the home to Nashville Bridge Company. Two years ago, Mayor Karl Dean decided to renovate the riverfront, which included a $7 million update to the Bridge Building. Currently, the building is home to offices for the parks department, Southern Environmental Law Center, Cumberland River Compact and event space. The Bridge Building is one of the few remaining structures from the early 1900s left along the riverbank. .
