Benchmark recently revealed their numbers for the 2011 year and just by by quickly skimming them, their success and growth is evident.
In 2011, Benchmark added a second office located in Murfreesboro. Despite a new office, Benchmark remained debt free in 2011. In fact, the Murfreesboro office startup was fully support by cash flow, meaning no hands had to dip into retained earnings to support opening its doors.
Benchmark’s remarkable sales growth was surely supported by this second office, which was met with impressive success during its first year. Overall for the company, gross sales increased by 111 percent! In 2010, Benchmark completed $136,567,566 in sales, a number that jumped to $288,705,359 in 2011. Gross commission income increased as well, from $3,905,199 in 2010 to $8,175,675 in 2011–which calculates to a 109 percent increase. The gross commission increase may correlate to the increase in transactions; a 113 percent increase occurred between 2010 and 2011, from 684 transactions in 2010 to 1,455 in 2011.
Benchmark’s numbers are very impressive, and show that the market is strengthening little by little. Their growth in numbers allowed them to add agents last year as well. 73 agents were hired in 2011, each holding an average transaction count of 5.13.
With Benchmark’s profitability increasing by 300 percent in a single year, it is easy to see why we are proud to work alongside such a strong and successful company – a company that in 2011 was the largest single office in Tennessee and remains on track to rank as 5th largest real estate company in Middle Tennessee for 2011, as ranked by Nashville Business Journal’s “List of Businesses.” Not only is the company continually growing and being met with furthered success, but it is composed of good people with charitable hearts, evident with charitable giving numbers in excess of $10,000 in 2011.

Looking forward to 2011, Benchmark hopes to expand their Murfreesboro office to 100 agents and even look in to sourcing yet another office, a third, in Nashville. As of right now, all signs point to a location in the West End area.
