Barista Parlor, located at 519B Gallatin Ave. in East Nashville, is owned by Nashvillian Andy Mumma who has made this a coffee shop that one will make a point to visit, with unique decor and artwork and some of the finest coffee products available on the market. And the shop offers unique chocolates from around the world… as if we needed another reason to visit!
Barista Parlor has teamed up with its neighbor, Porter Road Butcher, to prepare fresh and tasty breakfast sandwiches and casseroles. Other breakfast items are provided by The Bloomy Rind, Dozen Bakery, Foxy Baking, Sweet Betweens. In addition to its breakfast offerings, Barista Parlor offers coffees from prominent coffee shops country-wide, including Coava Coffee, Counter Culture, Madcap, Sightglass, Intelligentsia. Chocolate: Mast Bros, Olive and Sinclair, Dick Taylor, Sweeteeth, Askinosie, and Taza.
The coffee is all prepared fresh to order with top of the line equipment. For regular coffee, methods include Chemex and a siphon pot, and for espresso, their machine of choice is the Slayer, a hand-made machine in which there are only a couple dozen in the U.S.
There is also a unique cold-brewing method using large towers to brew the coffee before its chilled.
