On October 2nd, 2010, over a thousand bikers and 200 volunteers gathered along a path between Franklin and Lynchburg, TN for the Jack and Back bike ride. Bikers rode 75 miles to the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg Saturday morning for a tour of the distillery, set up camp at Motlow Community College, and got back on the bike Sunday morning to return to Franklin. This ride was to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, a charity organization dedicated to not only finding a cure but also to helping people who currently live with MS lead more fulfilling lives. Multiple Sclerosis is an inflammatory disease that hinders the ability of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord to communicate with each other.
The local chapter of the MS Society raised over $600,000 at this year’s Jack and Back bike ride and our very own Andrew Trammell with the Perry Property Group participated in the event! Andrew rode 60 miles each way and was proud to finish the first day’s ride in under 4hrs! “I had an awesome time with the Jack & Back event!” said Andrew. “It was my first biking event of this magnitude and was very well organized all along the way. My favorite part of the whole event was the food! They fed us really well at Jack Daniels after day 1 and then again upon arriving home in Nashville.”
Andrew plans to participate in the Jack and Back again next year and recommends it to bikers who are looking for a fun and worthwhile event to take part in!
