Mike Wolfe, star of History Channel’s American Pickers, is set to open his store, “Antique Archaeology” this Saturday in Marathon Village. Wolfe’s website says the store will open officially at 10 A.M. Saturday morning. Wolfe, along with his co-star Frank Fritz, star in the popular program that follows the two as they travel America seeking and pricing unique, one of a kind artifacts. Wolfe first entertained the idea of a Nashville location in a November interview with Nashville Scene.
Antique Archaeology Nashville will be located in the old Marathon Automobile car factory dated from the early 1900s right along I-40. The store spans 3,000 square feet in the former auto plant. On his website, Wolfe shares that he never imagined doing “picking” for a living. He shares, “When I was five, I had my first big score when I found a pile of old bicycles in my neighborhood on trash day. And I was always bringing home old bottles and other random stuff. I never thought of it as junk: to me, it was beautiful.” Be sure not to miss out on this new, unprecedented store with plenty of treasures to fit your liking (source) (source 2) (picture 1).
