Aertson Midtown named for new mixed-use project | Nashville News

Buckingham Cos has finally announced the name for its $100 million mixed-use project!

The project will be called Aertson Midtown and will be built on 21st and Broadway. The name will pay homage to the family who helped found Vanderbilt University. Parts of Aertson Midtown are designed to resemble the styles of buildings found on Vanderbilt’s campus.

Aertson Midtown will be 17 stories high and have over 600,000 square feet to hold 350 apartments. In addition, the complex will have a 180-room full-service hotel, which will be operated by Kimptin Hotels and Restaurants. The hotel will feature 6,500 square feet of meeting space while retail space will be allotted 35,000 square feet. The parking garage will have 630 parking spots.

Official completion is planned for 2017. However, completion will come in phases with some apartments and the hotel first.

Mayor Karl Dean describes Aertson Midtown as a great example of a mixed-used project that makes the community more walkable and helps support mass transit.
