Breakfast: Frothy Monkey
Frothy Monkey bills itself as “A neighborhood coffeehouse and so much more.” Their breakfast menu consists of organic foods and local ingredients prepared fresh daily. It’s tempting to order based only on the names of the plates: The Bill, The Bob, The Plain Jane, The Fancy Jane, or Tennessee French (Toast That Is).
Activity: Percy Priest Lake
Take a walk through the woods or stay in the car – there are plenty of trails for either preference with amazing scenic views. Expect to see horses walking through the trails, locals getting away from city life to sunbathe or enjoy a picnic, dogs chasing Frisbees and kids playing.
Lunch: Local Taco
“The Local Taco stands as an eclectic and unique restaurant that embraces the simple pleasures of Tex-Mex cuisine, the traditions and character of Southern food culture, and distinct flavors of the communities in which it resides.” Nashvillians in-the-know line up out the door and crowd in shoulder-to-shoulder waiting for tables to open up at this Tex-Mex hotspot. The margaritas are some of the best in town, especially at their price point, and owner John Ko uses his family recipe for the infamous Korean BBQ tacos.

Dinner: PM
Located in the funky Belmont area, PM is a favorite for locally inspired sushi, innovative desserts, fun cocktails, and a burger that gets a nod from the MetroMix Best of Nashville contest every year. Executive chef Arnold Myint comes from a family of culinary geniuses and was honored recently with a spot as a contestant in Bravo’s Top Chef D.C.
