60th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting | Nashville Events

Ring in the Christmas and holiday season in Nashville in just a few weeks, on Friday, Dec. 7 at the Piedmont Natural Gas 60th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade.

This fun, family-friendly night of festivities begins at 6:30 p.m. with the lighting of the Christmas tree in Public Square Plaza in downtown Nashville. Immediately following the Christmas tree lighting will be a beautiful fireworks display.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on the Woodland St. Bridge at Public Square and travel down 2nd Avenue and up Broadway to 9th Avenue.

This year’s theme is ‘A Christmas Salute,’ which pays tribute to not only our military abroad, but to those men and woman that serve their communities locally for the greater good.

Proceeds of this year’s event will benefit Piedmont’s Share the Warmth Program. This program assists local low-income individuals and families who need help paying their energy bills at any point during the year. Since 2003, Piedmont Natural Gas and its customers have donated more than $1.5 million to the Share the Warmth Program.
