Why celebrate the birth of our nation anywhere but Nashville? Nothing says America like live music and fireworks on the riverfront?
Downtown Nashville has all there is to offer on the fourth of July. There will be hours of live music from The Band Perry, Keb’ Mo’ and the Nashville Symphony, just to name a few. Live music begins at noon with the Nashville Dancin’ Pre-show concert, with the Advance Financial Pre-show also going on starting at 12:55. The main festivities begin with the National Anthem at 7 p.m. at the Riverfront Park Lawn Stage. The night will end with fireworks around 10.
If you are looking for family fun and games, this will also be provided downtown at the Family Fun Zone. Open from noon to 5 on the fourth, the Family Fun Zone will offer inflatables, games, water fountains and more. This will be a great way to keep the kids entertained on the holiday.
There will also be a new attraction for all kids and those who are kids at heart. There will be a 300 ft zip line on 2nd Avenue! From noon to 6 pm on Thursday, you can pay $10 and ride a zip line down 2nd Avenue. Also, keep a look out for coupons. There are rumors that many vendors will have half-off coupons for the ride.
If you want to start your morning early with a little philanthropic physical activity, check out the Music City July 4th 5K/10K. All proceeds for the race benefit the Salvation Army, and each participant will receive a t-shirt and medal at the finish line.
