Emily White
Marketing and Administration Intern, Summer/Fall 2008 |
After graduating as valedictorian from Milan High School in 2005, Emily moved to Nashville to begin undergraduate studies at Belmont University. Her interest in real estate developed from her mother's involvement in the business. As an international business major and licensed real estate agent, Emily is considering eventually getting involved in real estate on a global level. She became an intern for the Perry Property Group in July of 2008.
At Belmont, Emily is active in several student organizations. She serves as vice president of the Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority, is the community outreach chair for the Belmont Ambassadors, is a member of the Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) team, and is a member of the International Business Society. She also served as an orientation leader for the fall class of 2008. Emily has been on the Dean's List for five semesters, and in the spring of 2007, was inducted into the Alpha Chi Honor Society.
Emily is writing a business plan that is a culmination of her personal interests, organizational involvement, and senior coursework, the goal of which is to assist local African refugees.
Emily is currently spending her last semester of college studying in Barcelona. With post-graduation plans undecided, a whole world of opportunities lies waiting to be discovered.

Emily Headrick
Marketing and Administrative Intern, Spring 2009 |
In 2005 Emily graduated as valedictorian from Seymour High School in East Tennessee. After, winning the Dolly Parton Scholarship she decided to attend Belmont University for an undergraduate degree. Her interest in real estate was sparked when her father began the process of acquiring his license as well as her aunt’s success in the field. This year Emily has been involved with a new program at Belmont called Service Year which focuses on instilling a sense of community between students and members of the community surrounding Belmont. In order to reach out to the community Emily happily spends twenty hours a week at the Campus for Human Development and Room in the Inn, each are non-profit organizations to help the homeless. After time spent with those that are homeless, Emily has a new understanding for the importance of having a place to call home, and has gladly been working with the Perry Property Group as an intern since January 2009 to help people purchase homes.
As a Mass Communication major and English Writing and Dance minor, Emily stays very busy. She is a member of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority, Engaged Scholar, Alpha Chi Honor Society, and University Ministry Leader. Also, ballet, modern, and jazz dance have always been a passion for Emily, so for three years she has taught for Rejoice Ministries, a non-profit organization that allows inner city girls to take dance classes for free, along with an apprenticeship with Epiphany Modern Dance Company, and she won the Dance Minor of the Year award in 2007.
After remaining on the Dean’s List every semester at Belmont, Emily will graduate Summa Cume Laude in August 2009. She plans to travel the country this summer after being accepted for a travel writing trip across America through Belmont’s Study Abroad Programs. What a way to end an undergraduate degree and experience! As far as post-graduate plans, Emily hopes to still be involved in a Marketing or Communications field through a non-profit organization.
