Floor Plan Websites | Nashville Home Design
Are you feeling like you might want to take on the project of designing your own home, but are not sure where to even begin?
We have a lot of clients that come to us with this desire – so we decided to share two websites that can make the floor plan designing process a breeze for those who want to go down that route.
Floorplanner.com allows you to design spaces from the ground up for whatever your specific need may be. Whether its a home floor plan, designing a room, planning the layout of an event, or figuring out furniture placement, floorplanner.com has you covered.
To use the website’s basic services is free, however for more extended options, a one per year fee of $14.95 is applied. However, for those designing a single floor plan or room, the basic services are more than enough.
Basic services include one design, three floors and three designs per floor. The Plus account ($14.95/year) includes up to five complete projects, the ability to export images and also the option to add external media, if so desired.
Making an account is super easy and after just a few minutes of playing around on the website, it proved to be user-friendly and offer a lot of options that will be sure to please anyone in the market to design their own space.
Homestyler.com is another user-friendly online program for designing floor plans. Similar to floorplanner.com, this website allows you to design from the ground up, even down to finishing touches like doors, windows, furnishings and colors!
This website proved to be just as user-friendly as floorplanner.com, so it might take a little playing with each to decide which you prefer. Homestyler.com also offers users the ability to browse their gallery. Being able to browse other creations can make the design process easier.
One last bit of information to bestow upon you before you embark on the mission of creating your own floor plans is to keep in mind lot sizes. In Nashville, many lots are a size that is referred to as a city lot. These lots are great for homes small in width and longer in depth. Generally, homes in city lots are no wider than 40 feet. Keeping that in mind can make your designing and planning easier. If you have a lot in mind, make sure to know the dimensions before you begin designing your floor plan.
